Deborah
Dunn, LMFT is a licensed
Marital and Family Therapist in
private practice near Raleigh, N.
C. She has been providing counseling
services in a variety of roles for
over 25 years all over the state.
Recently, her conviction that churches
needed to be doing more to reach
out to their communities in crisis
has led her to form a nonprofit,
Community
in Crisis, Inc. and a corporate
crisis training company International
Disaster Education Associates, Inc.
Deborah has a great deal of experience
dealing with caregivers, and understand
their compassion fatigue, having
been a caregiver a number of years.
Her interest is in teaching the
church how to form counseling ministries
and disaster teams that can reach
out to the elderly, handicapped,
and families with members in nursing
homes that might have to deal with
disaster situations.
In addition to her counseling and
disaster ministry, she teaches conferences,
workshops, and women's retreats
based on the Original Design, a
program that helps women and couples
shed unrealistic expectations of
marriage, and turn their hearts
toward God's plans for their lives.
