Free Daily Quote

Before WriterSpeaker.com was released there were fewer quality ezines for writers and speakers. Today there are some excellent ezines to educate and encourage writers and speakers to reach their goals. I have come to the realization that this ezine might not be the best use of my time and I have decided to change my focus.

I love quotations and use them often in my writing and speaking. I am a member of several discussion lists for writers and speakers and with increasing regularity someone asks where to find quotes and how to manage them. There are a plethora of quote sites online and countless books of quotations for those interested in using quotations in their work. It doesn't take long to realize what's needed to effectively use those quotes, without killing precious time in your day, is a piece of software to help you store and manage your quote collection.

My husband, Gary, is a software developer and together we are working on a piece of software for writers, speakers and others who enjoy quotes. The program will be filled with thousands of quotes with a powerful search functionality. Users will be able to search by topic, theme, words or phrases, authors and more. Adding and deleting quotes will be easy and there will be a record keeping function too.

Because a project of this magnitude takes a massive amount of work, and I am still working on multiple writing projects, I have decided to look at how my time is used each day. In place of the ezine I am offering a Daily Quote service for those interested in subscribing. Each day you will receive a quotation in your email. Since I am moving in a new direction and will no longer be publishing my ezine I'd like to suggest several writer and speaker related email newsletters, ezines or Web sites.

Free Newsletters For Writers

Writing World offers "A World of Writing Information - For Writers Around the World." This is an information-packed newsletter from the Writing World Web site. Subscription information is listed on the front page of their site.

In previous issues of our ezine we've had a series of articles by Laura Backes, publisher of the Children's Book Insider, the newsletter for children's writers. You can subscribe to their newsletter and also enjoy their Web site.

Wordweb Newsletter is a publication of the Inspired Writing Workshops and Writing Services.

Spirit Led Writer. is a resource/paying market for Christians who write in fiction and non-fiction genres for Christian and secular markets. It is for the beginner, intermediate and advance writer. The ezine/website includes monthly features, fillers and "floating" columns, on non-fiction and fiction topics, provide information, inspiration and tips that encourage Christian writers to lead Christ-Centered personal and professional lives. Regular, bi-monthly columns cover diverse genres and areas of writing, including: Business of Writing; Contests; Encouraging News (for newbie writers); Inspirational Romance; Markets; Poetry; Writing Articles from the Heart (essay writing); and Writers of the King (inspirational). The editor, Lisa Crayton, is a prolific, award-winning freelance writer and former corporate communications editor. I have come to know and admire her on various writing lists.
